I feel that sales will hold strong closer to Christmas this year as it seems many have left their run later than normal and talking to solicitors and builders there are a number that are going to start up early in the New Year which should help keep some momentum in the market. Pretty rotten weather here this week (not complaining but the Mallee farmers son in me knows every drop of rain counts.) It seems that the selling market has picked up with a number of strong enquiries and sales along with several new properties soon to come to the market (late August/ early September) and must say all seem very well positioned on price, so watch this space.

Launceston Weekly Real Estate Report

Activity has been good over the past week with surprising activity at the high end of the market – $500,000 plus. It seem that first home buyers on the First Home Owners Grant (FHOG) are thinning out and we are coming across local investors who have learnt to act quickly on putting in offers as they have missed to the first home buyers who were bolting from the blocks securing properties. Have seen strong interstate enquiry on all properties throughout Launceston although the high end has been much stronger with people cashing out of mainland homes into their Tassie dream home for half the price or even less!
